Mary Catherine Pugh was born in Tennessee, February 11, 1839, and died at her home near Jasper, Sunday January 7, 1917, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 26 days. Her maiden name was Caskey and she married William R. Pugh February 26, 1857. To this union were born 12 children, 6 of whom are living, as follows: J. Allen Pugh of Oglesby, OK., and Charles S., Ed J., Henry G., Elmer, and Fred of this community.
Mrs. Pugh became a member of the Baptist Church in
early life and lived an earnest faithful Christian life. She was a good
neighbor and a faithful friend, her life being full of service for others. She
is survived by 6 sons, 35 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mary Catherine is buried at Waters Cemetery, Northwest of Jasper, Barton Co.,
MO.
