Mrs. Anna Mary Elizabeth Conrad died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Rudisaile, of College street, aged 81 years, after an illness of a month.  Her death was occasioned by a complication of diseases, superinduced by old age.
Deceased was born near Hamburg, Germany, in March 1822.  When a girl of sixteen she came with her family to the U. S., the father settling near St. Louis.  When twenty years of age she was married to R. B. Conrad.  To this union were born eleven children, of whom eight are now living. They are R. A. and G W. Conrad, of Grand Junction, Colorado; J.H. Conrad and Mrs. J. H. Rudisaile, of this place; F. M. Conrad, of Lamar; Mrs. Lewis Stone and Mrs. L. Bunton, of Verdella, and Mrs. L. E. Rudisaile of near Lamar.
Mrs. Conrad came with her husband from Perry county, Missouri, in
1870, and settled on the old Conrad homestead near Barton City.  Mr.
Conrad died in 1881.  Since that time Mrs. Conrad has made her home with her children, having lived here several years with her daughter, Mrs. Rudisaile.
She was a good, kind christian woman, and she will be sadly missed by
her family and friends.
